Bridging our community for success!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Bridge Of Boston Community Works.

Families and individuals with housing and/or financial challenges need help building life skills, developing resilience, and finding long-term, appropriate housing. Here are just a few ways you can help:

Annual Toy Drive: Every year, Bridge Of Boston Community Works distributes over 450 toys and winter gear to children from our community. Most of those toys are donated by Toys For Tots and those who attend our annual toy drive.

    •    How you can help: take donations (toys), write and attach toy tags, sign in recipients, assist in distribution, set up and clean up.

Welcome Summer: This resource fair connects students with summer camps, job opportunities, free lunches and other events that can help make summer a happy, productive time.

    •    How you can help: Secure donations, Direct and sign in recipients, set up and clean up.

Back to School: Children need supplies for school: notebooks, pencils, backpacks and book bags, even winter coats. BOBCW takes donations to purchase these supplies, or collects the supplies from generous local businesses.

    •    How you can help: Secure donations, Direct and sign in recipients, gather and distribute supplies, set up and clean up.

First-time Homebuyers: First-Time Homebuyer Education Training helps first-time homebuyers gain a thorough understanding of the home purchasing process.

    •    How you can help: Teach a class on home ownership, provide one-on-one homeownership counseling.

Neighborhood/block events: Particularly in the warm-weather months, we schedule community-building events that might be anything from a cookout to a neighborhood walk. Volunteers are welcome to join us, pitch in, and get to know your community.

    •    How you can help: Secure donations, help set up and clean up, direct and sign in recipients, or share other special skills.

Other Ways You Can Help: You tell us! We’re always looking for special skills, whether that means family financial management, organizational or computer skills, food preparation/presentation, etc. Let us know about your special strengths. If you’d like to help, we’ll find a way to fit you in.
